ARBEEN

5- The history of Arbaeen pilgrimage

The late Aiti writes: The appearance of Sheikh Tusi’s statement is that Jabir left Medina for pilgrimage and entered Karbala on the 20th day of the month of Safar. Not that his arrival in Karbala (accidentally) happened forty days after the martyrdom of the Imam (peace be upon him), and it is not unlikely that this is the case, because after the arrival of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Kufa, Ibn Ziyad, Abdul Malik bin Harith Salmi He sent from Iraq to Hijaz to inform Amr bin Saeed bin As Umayyad, the governor of Medina, about the martyrdom of the Imam and his companions. Abd al-Malik immediately went to Medina and officially informed the governor of Medina about the Imam’s martyrdom. In this case, it is possible that Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari, having heard about the tragedy of the martyrdom of Imam (peace be upon him) and Bani Hashim, left Medina. Jabir entered Karbala on the 20th of the month of Safar, just forty days after the Imam’s martyrdom, and the tradition of visiting the Imam (on Arbaeen) was established by him. [20

– Narration of Atiyah from the day of Arbaeen

In the book “Bashara al-Mustafi” it is stated: Atiya Aufy says: We entered Karbala with Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari in order to visit the grave of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). Jabir went near Sharia Euphrates. He bathed and put on good clothes… Then we moved towards the holy grave. Jaber did not take a single step, except that he said the remembrance of God, until we reached the grave. Then he said to me: Take me to the grave. (Some have reported that Jabir was almost blind at this time.) I placed his hand on the grave. Jaber fell on the grave and fainted. I splashed some water on his face. When he regained consciousness, he said three times: Ya Husayn. Then he said: O Hussein, why don’t you answer me? Then he said to himself: How can you answer when the veins in your throat have been cut and there is a separation between your head and body. I bear witness that you are the son of Khatam al-Nabiyin and Sayyid al-Mu’minin… and the fifth person among the Companions of Kasa… Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you. [23]

6 – Conclusion

It seems that the day of Arbaeen is the day when the Ahl al-Bayt of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) left Syria for Medina. Except for “Lahof” (it should also be noted that Lahof is not a first-hand source. This book was written in the 7th century of Hijri).
