ARBEEN

1- The holiness of Arbaeen

Arbaeen is an Arabic word that has been given a lot of attention in our religious texts. In such a way that this word has a special sanctity. Ayatollah Javadi Amoli believes that there is a characteristic in the number forty that is not present in other numbers. Most of the prophets reached the position of prophethood at the age of forty. The duration of prayers of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) on Mount Toor was forty nights.

It has been said that you should pray for 40 believers in the night prayer… The heavens and the earth cried for 40 days for Hussain bin Ali (peace be upon him). [2]

2- Arbaeen in hadiths

In some hadiths, it is mentioned to celebrate the day of Arbaeen. In a hadith of Imam Hasan Askari (peace be upon him), visiting Arbaeen is considered as one of the signs of a believer. In this hadith, the Holy Prophet says: The signs of a believer are five things:

1- Fifty-one rakats of prayer every day and night (17 rakats are obligatory, the rest are recommended);

2- putting the ring on the right hand;

3- prostrating on the ground;

4- Saying “In the name of God, Most Merciful, Most Merciful” aloud in prayer;

5- Arbaeen pilgrimage. [3]
